Week of Compassion is the relief, refugee and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada.
Week of Compassion is more than a week. We respond year-round to human needs all over the world like disaster relief, war refugee needs, sustainable development projects, girls’ education, maternal health initiatives and more. Every time we share, we bear witness to the unity of the Lord’s Table, faithfully sharing the gifts that we have received as an expression of Christ’s love.
Each year the last two Sundays of February are set aside as “The Week of Compassion” in many Disciples congregations. With special promotional materials and worship resources that center around a common theme, it’s a time for Disciples all over the world to celebrate this common ministry and to share a spirit of generosity together.
Some congregations choose a different week or season to emphasize Week of Compassion. When you give through your local congregation’s special offering, you are participating along with thousands of other Disciples congregations across the United States and Canada!
You can find resources for observing Week of Compassion at their website.
