Women’s Ministries
Disciples Women’s Ministries is a general ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of the United States and Canada that creates avenues for clergy and lay women to seek renewal and ministry opportunities by and for women worldwide. The Disciples Women’s Ministry is a collaborative effort between the Office of Disciples Women and the International Disciples Women’s Ministries (IDWM).
There are a variety of opportunities for women in the Oregon-Southwest Idaho Region to gather together for learning, fellowship and spiritual growth.
Women of any age are welcome to participate.

Women’s Retreats
Two women’s retreats are usually offered each year: Eastside in August (in Idaho) and Westside in October (Southwest of Portland). Eastside retreats are residential Friday evening through Sunday. Westside retreats are Friday evening and all day Saturday events, held at a local congregation.

Pray and Play Days
Pray and Play Days are “mini-retreats” of 3-4 hours each scheduled at least once per year to enable Disciples women and their friends from around the Region to meet Disciples sisters from other communities and spend time praying together and playing together.
Women’s Action Web
Women in the OR-SWI Region participate in the Women’s Action Web, a program where a group of women travel to various locations in the United States and Canada to learn about issues that adversely affect women. The program provides women with an immersive learning experience that raises awareness of various justice issues and inspires them to work towards change in their own community.
Regional Women’s Council
Women’s Ministry leaders on both sides of the Region are working together to provide more collaboration between the two historically separate groups. They are establishing
a Women’s Council with representation from both groups.
